Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellation, refund review and physical receipt are separate steps. Refunds are processed manually by the team; the dashboard records their status and reference.
Last updated: October 9, 2026
1. Before work starts
Clients can cancel eligible tasks that are awaiting matching, a Mate offer or client payment. Explain the reason in the task dashboard. An unpaid cancellation requires no refund. If payment has been recorded, the cancelled task is marked refund pending for manual processing.
2. After work starts
For work in progress, revisions or submitted work awaiting approval, clients can request cancellation for admin review. Work pauses while the request is pending. The admin reviews the reason and task history, then approves or declines the request.
If cancellation is approved for a paid task, the full amount paid after discounts becomes refund pending. If the request is declined, the task resumes only where its deadline and state permit; overdue work needs a separate resolution.
3. Manual refunds and status labels
- Refund pending: a paid task has been cancelled, but the admin has not yet recorded the refund as issued.
- Refund issued: the admin has processed the refund outside the app and recorded its amount, transaction reference and recording time.
- Cancellation or admin review does not automatically transfer money. Refund amount is based on the amount paid after discounts.
- Check your payment account for receipt of funds. Contact support with the task ID and recorded reference if there is a settlement issue.
Refund processing and bank settlement times can vary. Contact support for the status of your specific refund.
4. Missed deadlines and delivery concerns
Unfinished tasks past their work deadline are paused for admin review, not automatically cancelled or refunded. Contact support to resolve cancellation or agree a new deadline. Work already submitted for client approval remains available for review after the work deadline.
For wrong or incomplete work, request specific corrections through the dashboard. You can raise a dispute for admin review or contact support@assignmate.in with your task ID and supporting details.
5. Physical receipt and final approval
For campus handoff or local delivery, generate the six-digit handoff code only when receiving the physical work. Share it after receipt, and have your assigned Mate enter it within 15 minutes.
Handoff confirmation records receipt. It does not approve quality or release payment. Inspect the work and separately approve the completed task, or raise concerns before approval.
6. Completed tasks and Mate payouts
Completed tasks and tasks with cleared Mate payout allocations cannot be cancelled through the normal dashboard flow. Contact support for review. Final approval and manual payout processing are separate; dashboard completion does not confirm a bank transfer.
Use your client dashboard to review cancellation and refund records. Mates can follow task and payout updates in Creator Desk.
